New concepts developed for Barnes & Noble, Stuart Weitzman and Coach
I am an acolyte of Edward Tufte, the “Dean of Information Design”. Most of the graphs, charts and explanatory graphics you see in the New York Times are created by Tufte followers.
The goal of great information design is the pursuit of elegance, clarity and transparency in the presentation of complex and varied data, to provide an easily understood overview as well as access to minute details. To present all the data to the user represents confidence in the reliability of the data.
I developed this custom design and construction process schedule format at Coach for this purpose. Multiple pages tracked projects by channel of distribution; retail, factory, wholesale and international, and provided transparent communication of the timeline management of up to 600 global projects of varied scope and at various stages of development.
This format has propagated as members of my former Coach team have moved to work at other brands. It is currently being used at Coach Inc., Tapestry, Stuart Weitzman, Tory Burch and Michael Kors, among other retail companies.
