I design best using pen and pencil top express my thoughts. When I can make the time and have the patience, nothing beats watercolors for capturing the mood of a place. Collection of watercolor, pencil and ink sketches from various trips to Paris, New York, Scotland, Thailand, and Kyoto.
Nothing beats the texture and grit of a raw, un-retouched image. I love to work in medium-format film, as it is not long for this world. Using only available light and shot on 120 film with a hand-held Mamiya RZ-67 Pro IID camera. It's a heavy and bulky studio camera, but it's worth it.
Locations: China, Tibet, Paris and upstate NY.
One great outcome of designing and building global projects, is carrying a traveling sketchbook, to document what interests me in freehand and collage, pen and colored pencil.
