About
Michael is an architect, designer and store design & development executive with deep experience in conceiving and implementing store design strategies that define and expand global luxury brands.
With hands-on experience in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and a proven track record leading geographically dispersed teams, Michael has executed projects across domestic and international markets: flagships, full-price and factory stores, wholesale shop-in-shops, travel retail, and showrooms.
Whether leading rapid prototyping and store expansion for the luxury designer footwear brand, STUART WEITZMAN, or creating new branded concept shops and showrooms for the luxury apparel and accessories brand THE ROW (established by the celebrity designer twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), and FRERE, the new luxury menswear brand, Michael has been relied upon to provide design leadership in close collaboration with C-suite executives as well as key stakeholders.
In 2000, Michael spearheaded the store design transformation that led the COACH, INC. transition from a domestic accessories business to a Fortune 500 global lifestyle brand- one of the most visible and successful American brand transformations of the last three decades, with 580% organic income growth in eight years, a CAGR of 26%.
Before leading teams at Coach, Michael worked in project and construction management roles, most notably for clients Chanel and Barneys New York while at PETER MARINO ARCHITECT, the leading global architecture firm for luxury retail design.
